We’re members-funded, which is important to keep us independent and members-focused. Funds are used for materials, meeting spaces, training, printing, staffing, legal support and whatever else you and your branch decide you need.

Membership

Depending on where you’re based, you will be contacted by your nearest branch upon joining and kept up to date through newsletters and events. Where possible, we encourage members to dedicate whatever time they can to CATU work that is important to them and their community. CATU doesn’t work for you, we work together, supporting each other in our issues and winning together.

We accept almost all forms of habitants living anywhere across the 32 counties of Ireland;

  • Private tenants
  • AHB/council tenants
  • Mortgage holders or home-owners
  • Adult children in family homes and those in student accommodation
  • Retirement community members or others in special assistance accommodation
  • Nomadic or settled members of the Travelling Community
  • Emergency Accommodation residents, rough sleepers, couch-surfers or homeless
  • Asylum Seekers, Direct Provision and International Protection residents
  • We do not accept applications from Landlords.

Up Your Dues

If you’re already a member, consider increasing your dues to help support your union in the face of recent inflation and operation cost increases. Even a few quid will go a long way.
